Varna resorts


Programme:

The tour programme begins at the “Golden Sands” holiday resort marina. After equipment has been prepared and a short instruction carried out, we set off south.We paddle along Golden Sands and Riviera beach where the resort reveals itself to us in its full glory. After paddling for a short while around a picturesque rocky coastline, we end up at Kabakum beach where we stop for some rest and lunch at one of the beach restaurants. Once we’ve eaten and rested, we set off south, paddling along the beautiful beaches of Sunny Day and St. Constantin and Elena resorts. Upon request, we can also stop at some of the resorts beaches for a short break and a walk. After we pass by Evksinograd Residence we will moor at a nice small beach near Varna’s fishing village. This is where our day-long sea adventure ends.

Note: The programme is not compulsory and can be changed on the spot at the discretion of the guide, depending on the current weather conditions, physical capacities and experience of participants, etc.

Golden Sands
Zlatni Pyasatsi (Golden Sands) is one of the oldest and largest Black Sea resorts in Bulgaria. It is situated at a distance of 17 km north from Varna city, in close proximity to the breezy forests of the natural park "Golden Sands".
The name of the resort comes from the wonderful golden sand. According to a local legend, pirates buried a golden treasure here, and in order to avenge them nature turned it into fine golden sand. The beach line here is 3.5 km long, and in some places its width reaches 100 meters.
The climate in the resort is exceptionally suitable for marine tourism with hot summers and average temperatures in the month of June of + 22 C. The presence of mineral springs with healing water had brought Golden Sands the fame of a balneological and SPA resort. The combination of a specific climate and mineral waters is successfully used for treatment of arthritis, stress conditions, neurosis, chronic pharyngitis, bronchitis, asthma.
There are multiple hotels in the resort, most of which are situated amidst broad-leaved forests. Their category varies, as well as their accommodation prices. Sunny Day
Slanchev Den (Sunny Day) Resort is a Bulgarian resort on the Black Sea coast, 10 km north of Varna and in the immediate vicinity of Bulgaria's oldest resort, the vacation complex "Saints Constantine and Elena." The Sunny Day Resort is 16 km from the Varna International Airport.
The climate in the region that includes Slanchev Den is very favorable for seaside vacations, with an average July air temperature that is between 23 and 28 degrees centigrade and water temperatures between 24 and 25 degrees centigrade.
The complex has four modern hotels with a combined capacity of 1,300 beds, offering excellent conditions for guests. Hotels offer all-inclusive packages.

Saints Constantine and Elena
Saints Constantine and Elena is Bulgaria's oldest resort complex. It is located 8 km from downtown Varna, between the city and The Golden Sands Resort. The area's climate is typically continental Mediterranean, with hot dry summers; the median temperature during June is 22 degrees centigrade.
The resort is situated in a forest of deciduous shade trees, and there are 7 mineral springs within its domain. The springs are between 1,800 and 2,050 meters deep with an average constant flow of 175 liters a second, and their temperature is between 40 and 60 degrees centigrade. Thanks to these hot springs, the resort has long been one of the Black Sea coast's most popular spas.
The resort derives its name from the venerable monastery Saints Constantine and Elena located here. Details of the monastery's history are not known, but what is known is that it was rebuilt during the first half of the 19th century. Evksinograd Residence
The Evksinograd Residence is located at a distance of 8 kilometers north of Varna and lies on a 3-kilometer coastline in close proximity to the resort of St. Constantine and Helena. The complex used to be a royal summer residence for the monarchs who ruled Bulgaria after the liberation of the country from the Ottoman Dominion (1878) - Alexander Battenberg, Ferdinand and Boris the 3rd.
Prince Battenberg visited Varna in 1880 and he was welcomed at the monastery "St. Dimitar", which was situated at the same place, where now the residence stands. The monarch liked the local nature so much, that two years later the Varna municipality bestowed him the monastery and its adjoining lands.
